Report: Manny Ramirez to join White Sox

08/30/2010 - Chicago, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Baseball sources have confirmed to MLB.com that Manny Ramirez will become a member of the Chicago White Sox on Monday.

The star outfielder was placed on waivers by the Dodgers earlier in the week. The White Sox then won the exclusive rights to Ramirez on Friday.

That left the Dodgers until Tuesday to work out a trade with Chicago, pull him off waivers and keep him or let him go and get nothing back in return.

If this move becomes a straight waiver claim, then the White Sox will be responsible for all $3.8 million still owed to Ramirez.

The 38-year-old has been on the disabled list three times this season due to right leg injuries. In fact, Ramirez has just 12 at-bats since July 17.

Ramirez was batting .311 with eight homers and 40 RBI in 66 games for Los Angeles this season.
