Two transfers join Eastern Illinois roster

08/06/2010 - Charleston, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Defending Ohio Valley Conference champion Eastern Illinois opened preseason camp Thursday night by welcoming two transfers to its roster, Mike Garrity from Illinois and Aki Dionsopoulos from Fresno State.

Garrity, 6-foot-6, 310 pounds, was a reserve offensive lineman at Illinois for the past three seasons, including a redshirt year in 2007. He is projected to compete for one of the two starting tackle spots on Eastern Illinois' offensive line.

Dionsopoulos, 5-11, 260, is a defensive tackle who was a redshirt at Fresno State last season. He also is expected to compete for a starting spot.

The Panthers, 8-4 last season, open the 2010 season on Sept. 4 at Iowa followed by their home opener on Sept. 11 against Central Arkansas.
